Easy and Budget-Friendly Decorating Ideas for a Super Bowl Party

It’s your turn to host the Super Bowl party, and you want to impress your guests with some great football decor. First of all, you will need to come up with a color theme based on your team’s colors. Then you will need to come up with a budget. You do not have to go all out and spend hundreds of dollars on decorations for your little get-together. Here are some easy and budget-friendly decorating ideas for your Super Bowl party.
Party invitations. First things first–depending on how formal or informal your Super Bowl party may be, you might decide to send out party invites to your guests. You will need: blank, white cards; construction or scrapbooking paper in your team’s colors; scissors; and glue. Cut out football-inspired shapes from the colored paper and paste them onto the cards. Type or hand-write the party information on the inside of the card. Now send them out to your friends.
Pom-poms and streamers. Buy streamers and pom-poms in your teams colors; then, hang the streamers across the ceiling and attach the pom-poms to the corners (like you would with balloons). If you don’t know where to buy pom-poms, make your own from either construction paper or tissue paper. Shred the paper into long strips, then fold them all in half, securing them together with tape or staples.
Team color flowers. Check out the florists in your area to get prices on flowers (in your team’s colors, if you can). If the team colors are yellow and blue, then maybe you could get yellow flowers in a blue vase. If it costs too much to buy real flowers, make your own out of tissue paper. Place your homemade flowers in a small dish or shallow bowl. Also consider investing on nice wooden dinnerware for that extra homey feel.
Paper products. Of course, the paper products should have a football theme. If you cannot find any with a football theme that fit into your budget, maybe you will be able to find some in your team’s colors. Visit your local dollar store–you may be surprised at what you find there. Don’t forget the plates, napkins, and cups. Set a tablecloth across the table where the food will be.
Football pinata. Finally–for the best part: buy (or make your own) football-shaped pinata. Then buy your own candy or other fillers, such as noisemakers, to fill it with. Also, get your team’s color bandanas to blindfold your guests. Hang the pinata in the middle of the room and let everyone take turns hitting it during halftime.
